On Saturday 13th February 2010, Scouts Australia NSW will be offering two half-day workshops on grant writing for Group Leaders and other volunteers, delivered by our resident grant writer, Jennifer Hamman. The workshops will be held as part of the Commissioners’ Conference at the Baden Powell Scout Centre, Pomona Street Pennant Hills.
There will be two identical sessions at which you may register to attend:
• Morning session (9.30am-12.30pm) or
• Afternoon session (1.30pm-4.30pm)
The workshop will focus on a range of topics including:
• Where to find appropriate grants
• Application basics
• How to develop a budget
• Letters of support, and
• Helpful do’s and don’ts Jennifer will be using examples of grant applications commonly used by Scout Groups including CDSE and the Volunteer Grants Program to discuss the best ways to approach different types of applications. The session will be interactive, with ample opportunity for you to ask the questions that are relevant to you and your experience with the grant application process.
